Event description

Description

An interactive event where attendees create the agenda and share experiences to learn from each other and improve LGBTQ+ inclusion in our workplaces. Ticket fees will be donated to The Proud Trust, supporting the needs of young LGBT+ people.

We spend a significant amount of time in work, yet 35% of LGBT employees have felt the need to hide that they’re LGBT for fear of descrimination. In tech, only 52% of lesbian, gay and bi people feel comfortable disclosing their sexual orientation to colleagues, with only 23% feeling comfortable to do so to clients, customers or service users.

Tech is one of the fastest growing industries and this is a great opportunity to improve LGBTQ+ inclusion in our workplaces, our industry and society as a whole. Let’s make a start on this together!

Are you:

  • Working for an organisation that is/wants to proactively improve experiences for LGBTQ+ people

  • Working in tech and part of the LGBTQ+ community

  • An ally who wants to do more for LGBTQ+ inclusion

Do you:

  • Believe in collaboration over competition

  • Want to learn from and share ideas with progressive individuals, business leaders & organisations

  • Want actionable ideas that you can takeaway and implement straight away

This interactive event will bring together forward-thinking community members and business leaders to share ideas, learnings and insights. Attendees will create the agenda on the day to ensure that the topics covered and takeaways generated are as relevant as possible. Topics could include getting senior leadership buy-in, colleague engagement, use of language, employee network groups but all suggestions are welcome!
