Introduction

These sessions aim to create a support network in which schools share ideas, effective practice and discuss issues surrounding Primary Art. To focus on practical solutions to common challenges and gain expert advice and guidance from Art lead professionals. In each meeting we will:

  • Share and learn from good practice
  • Network with colleagues from other schools

Agenda

  • Developing drawing skills through observation and use of artists' work
  • Developing art teaching sequences
  • Contents of a 'deep dive' and approaching it
  • Documentation to support art teaching and the role of the progress ladder
  • Assessing children's art work against the school's progression ladder

Teachers attending the meeting will need to bring the following.....

  • Their school's progression document / ladder for art (this should demonstrate expectation in drawing, painting, 3D etc in different year groups
