Event description

Description

Assessing the Cross-Curricular Skills in Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT – Training for New Practising Teachers (2 Day Course: 20 & 21 August)

Intended Audience - New Practising Teachers

Since 2012/13, schools have been required to assess the Cross-Curricular Skills of Communication and Using Mathematics and use the Levels of Progression to level pupil work. Since 2016/17 schools have been required to assess Using ICT and use the Levels of Progression to level pupil work.

CCEA would like to offer new practising teachers who did not receive this training, the opportunity to attend a two day course similar to the original training sessions for assessing the Cross-Curricular Skills.

The sessions will provide background to Assessing the Cross-Curricular Skills and the opportunity for teachers to take part in an agreement trial for both Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT.

*Please note:

  • The course is over two days and teachers are expected to attend on both days
  • This training is in English, but IM schools are welcome to attend.
  • Teachers in special schools may find this relevant as pupils who have a statement of Moderate Learning Difficulties have to be assessed using the Cross-Curricular Skills.

Book a Place

Registration is now open and will close approximately 3 days prior to each session. Each teacher wishing to attend must register separately.
