Event description
Together we will discover how to improve foreign language learning in schools. This event is part of the Festival of Social Science 2019.

About this Event

Join us as we consider foreign language learning in primary schools. Help us address the current challenges faced and discuss what is needed to implement a successful language learning policy. This event is part of the Festival of Social Science 2019.

We investigate how primary school children learn language. We research and implement successful strategies to ensure foreign language learning success in the primary classroom. Join our network and gain practical, research-based and ready to implement ideas for best classroom practice.

Professor Florence Myles from the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex and Bernadette Holmes MBE are organising this event alongside fellow members of the Research in Primary Languages (RiPL) Network.

Head teachers, policy makers, researchers, foreign language teachers and language professionals are all welcome to attend. Anyone interested in improving the language learning experience in primary schools will find this event invaluable.
