Primary Maths Briefing ONLINE
Overview
This event is an opportunity for subject leaders and all teachers of Primary Maths to keep up to date with national priorities for mathematics.
Develop richer maths teaching: deepen your own knowledge of the depth and richness of mathematical thinking and how to bring this to the classroom daily.
Develop subject knowledge with practical ideas for reasoning and problem solving based on improved fluency.
Delegates will have the opportunity to work collaboratively; develop and share practices from their own setting that supports in establishing equitable classrooms.

Trainer
Josh Lury - Maths Specialist Teacher
Josh has worked in schools for over twenty years and is passionate about lessons that inspire deep thinking, creativity and reasoning. He studied Maths and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh before specialising in Philosophy.
He now works as a writer, trainer and consultant, including a role with CODE Maths Hub.
Josh is a Maths Specialist Teacher and has worked in Special Schools and Secondary schools, but has spent most of his time teaching in Primary. He is the author of numerous Maths and English books and resources, including: A Creative Approach to Teaching Calculation (Bloomsbury) and Understanding and Teaching Grammar in the Primary Classroom (Routledge).

If you are unable to attend on the day, or are sending someone else in your place, please let us know. Please be aware that failure to cancel your space can incur your school a cost.

- This is a 'no additional charge’ event under the SWIFT Offer to Schools. You may withdraw, without penalty, provided minimum notice of 24 hours before the start time of the event is given.
- If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, for each date of a course for which there is no additional charge, then the following charges will apply per delegate: £25
Non-members of SWIFT:
- More than 21 days to date of event: Full refund available (minus £25 admin fee)
- Between 20-7 days to date of event: 50% refund available (minus £25 admin fee)
- 6 days or less to date of event: No refund available (plus £25 admin fee)
Should a training course recruit insufficient numbers to make it viable, we reserve the right to cancel the course, without penalty, giving minimum notice of 24 hours.
