NQT Induction Programme
A programme for newly qualified teachers who are at the beginning of their careers in teaching and are looking for a programme to help them develop their skills and become outstanding teachers. The programme is a citywide collaborative approach from City of York Council and the Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance.
NQT Welcome and introduction
Primary and secondary NQTs
This session will be accessed by both primary and secondary NQTs. Mike Jory will provide an introduction to the context of the authority, statutory information, and explain how to access support across the NQT year. Teaching Unions will be present, and it is also an opportunity for NQT colleagues to meet each other.
The National Agenda
Mike Jory and Alison Bailey
The introduction to the day will cover the nation agenda for primary education. This will feature any relevant statutory changes in curriculum and assessment practices
Resonant teacher including True Colors™
This session will support teachers in understanding themselves and others. The principles explored throughout the day will enable teachers to maximise the potential in themselves and the children they teach.
Repeat event: NQT Welcome and introduction
This session is open to any NQTs who are unable to attend on 15th September.
This session will be accessed by both primary and secondary NQTs.

Behaviour and Classroom Management
Greg will support teachers to explore best practice and establishing a positive climate for learning.
Assessment for Learning
An interactive session that will enable teachers to delve into a range of strategies, finding out what works and why!
NQT Mentor meeting
In school NQT mentors only
An informal opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from the authority.
Planning and teaching for effective differentiation and managing SEND.
Effective teaching and learning
Delivered by senior leaders from Hempland Primary School
Investigation into what strategies and practices make good/outstanding teaching.
Understanding the difference between NQT induction and performance management.
This session will provide all you need to know!
Leader/s: Pathfinder Teaching School
An opportunity for primary and secondary colleagues from across the authority to celebrate the successes of the year.
