Event description

Description

6th-8th June 2019

The international Primary Science Education Conference (PSEC) will unite primary educators from across the UK and internationally to share best practice in primary science and to develop and strengthen networks. The conference is hosted by the Primary Science Teaching Trust, whose vision is to see excellent teaching of science, in every primary classroom in the UK.

Please see our website for further information about the conference: www.primaryscienceconference.org

Programme

PSEC will offer outstanding professional development to all delegates who will be able to select sessions that match their particular interests and needs. Over three days, the varied programme will offer keynote talks, reflective seminars, interactive talks, practical workshops and breakout sessions. Please see our Highlights Brochure, for a draft conference timetable and more.

Tickets

Ticket pricing has been responsive to the tight budgets faced by many schools. In order for us to extend our support to teachers after the conference, each teacher delegate ticket includes access to a further one-day CPD event run by the Primary Science Teaching Trust for which there will be no charge. These follow-up events will be delivered by members of our Primary Science Teacher College at different locations around the UK. During PSEC you will be able to register your interest and we will communicate CPD options to you post the conference. The Primary Science Teaching Trust exists to support primary teachers in the delivery of science education, and to champion best practice. We have been achieving this aim for over 20 years, and we wish to continue our journey with you, after PSEC 2019

Teacher Ticket: Teachers need to be employed by a school (part time or full time) at the time of booking. Tickets will not be affected if teachers are no longer employed by the same school, or any school, when attending the conference. By purchasing a teacher ticket, you give PSTT permission to contact your school to confirm your teacher status.

Trainee Teacher: Upon arrival at the conference trainee teachers will be asked to show proof of status. Failure to do so will result in paying the difference for a standard rate ticket. If our standard rate tickets are sold out, this could result in denied access to the conference.

Standard Ticket: If you belong to any other organisations, including HEIs and home educators

PhD Student: We ask that you purchase a Teacher Ticket. Upon arrival at the conference PhD Students will be asked to show proof of status (student ID). Without this, you will be charged for a standard rate ticket.

Teaching Assistants: We ask that you purchase a Teacher Ticket. By purchasing a teacher ticket, you give PSTT permission to contact your school to confirm your TA status.

Home Educator: We ask that anyone wishing to attend the conference as a home school teacher to purchase a Standard Rate ticket. Teacher Rate tickets are for those employed by a school.

Same School Discount: For Teachers attending the conference from the same school. Discount offered if two or more tickets are brought at the same time for teachers attending from the same school. Applies to Teacher Ticket type only. Please scroll down and select this ticket type.

Exhibition

The hub of our conference will be the dynamic exhibition hall which will offer support for primary education across the curriculum and in particular for science. There will be opportunities to meet a variety of organisations and to engage with new ideas and resources for the classroom. Please view our Opportunities Brochure for more details about Sponsoring and Exhibiting.

Bursaries

We are able to offer a number of bursaries to enable teachers to attend the conference at little or no cost. To be eligible to apply, teachers must work in an infant, junior or primary school in the UK and ideally, they will be science subject leaders. Further terms and conditions will apply. Applications for bursaries is now open and will close in December 2018. Please see our conference website to apply. www.primaryscienceconference.org/bursaries
