Jason Harding, Helen Spring and Sally Fulford (CLEAPSS' safety experts)

Jason Harding has worked in education for over 30 years. During his teaching career, he taught primary and secondary aged children, was an Assistant Headteacher and an Advanced Skills Teacher. Jason later joined the National Strategy, became a local authority Science Advisor, Senior School Improvement Officer and a School Improvement Advisor. Concurrent to this Jason has been a member of Paul Black and Christine Harrison’s Education Research Group at King’s College, London. The group’s current research project ‘Science Ninjas’ studies hands-on learning strategies that help primary aged children learn by doing and the kinds of professional learning that help primary teachers implement them.

Helen Spring has worked as a Primary Consultant for CLEAPSS since 2021. In addition to this, since 2015, she has been running her own business, Spring Learning, working as a Primary Science and Outdoor Learning Consultant. Helen is the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) Region Lead for the Northeast and Scotland, a Focus4TAPS facilitator, co-chair of the Association for Science Education (ASE)’s Primary Committee, and the author of ‘Teaching Primary Science Outdoors’.

Sally Fulford has worked as a Primary Consultant for CLEAPSS since 2018.
