About this Event

Synopsis: During this training session our technical trainer which will focus on the techniques necessary for the dental technician to improve their productivity and handling of zirconium oxide all ceramics. Primary topics include CAD framework design tips with the 3 Shape Dental System, CAM manufacturing, sintering protocols, treatment of the zirconium oxide to build in life-like natural aesthetics. It is important that the dental technician gains an understanding of the different generations of Zirconium oxides, their indications and limitations to avoid failure.

All participants will be taught using Ivoclar Vivadent's innovative IPS e.max System and its coordinated components, the techniques shown are necessary for the dental technician to fabricate high aesthetic zirconium oxide restorations.

Participants will be supplied with pre-prepared zirconia substructures and subsequently are guided through the processes necessary to manufacture life-like aesthetic all ceramic restorations.

Aims: The aim of this session is to introduce the dental technician to the concept of efficient digital workflows, the potential to increase their productivity and flexibility when producing all ceramic structures fabricated in zirconium oxide. Technical explanation of the composition and mechanical properties of zirconium oxides are offered to update the participants and to errors and risk of failure post production. The session aims to increase the participants understanding of dental all ceramics and their features and benefits.

Objectives:

- Increase participants understanding of different generations of zirconium oxide all ceramics

- Gain a greater understanding of the indications and limitations for zirconium oxide all ceramics

- Gain further understanding of efficient digital workflows

- Gain an increased understanding of digital design and manufacture relating to the production of zirconium oxide frameworks

- Improve knowledge of post-processing and individualisation of the unsintered & sintered anterior restoration

- Increase knowledge of the layering protocols for dental ceramics over zirconium oxide substructures, to improve the aesthetic

- Increase knowledge of how to improve surface texture and characterisation of the dental restorations anatomy with rotary instruments

- Gain an understanding of firing cycles and the effect on dental ceramics

- Improve the dental restorations natural gloss and lustre with manual polishing.

Learning Outcomes: Discover and understand the different generations of zirconium oxide; including their features, benefits and limitations. Increase the participant's ability to select the most suitable all ceramic material for their patient's treatment plan. A greater understanding of dental materials will reduce the risk of selecting unsuitable Zirconium oxides for their patient, resulting in fewer failures and shade inaccuracies.

All participants are advised to bring their own brushes, ceramic plate and grinding tools for suitable for all ceramics.

Declaration of Commercial Bias:

Ivoclar Vivadent UK Ltd organise and sponsor this training course with the aim that participants increase their knowledge and understanding of dental ceramics relating to the use of Ivoclar Vivadent's innovative IPS e.max System.
