The Task:

We are extending Duke of Burgundy friendly habitat so that it has the opportunity to spread from Far Kingdom across the road. We have be planted a series of shelter belts and cowslips along side the margin of Long Orchard's chalk grassland meadow last year and will be adding more cowslips to these and continuing to work on the scrubby area at the far end.

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

10.00: Arrival on site. Task and safety briefing

10.15: Work begins

11.30: Tea & coffee break

13.00: Lunch - please bring your own

15.00: Work finishes, time to go home!

What to Bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers. If it's been raining wear your wellies!

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain.

Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Please note:

Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.

Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
