Principles of Cyber Security - Level 2 Online Course

Important Information:

This is a 12-week (approx. 120 hours) Online Self-Study qualification course. It can be started anytime and accessed (via a learning portal) at times/days to suit you.

Register your interest and we will email you an application pack - learning cannot be started until these forms are completed and submitted.

Once all forms are submitted and approved we will send you further information on accessing the Learning Platform

You can only apply for one course at a time however upon completion you can enrol on a further 2 courses per academic year.

Please note to enrol on this course learners must:

• Be aged 19+ on the 31/08/2024
• Live in the UK for 3 years/live in UK from EEA or have *pre-settlement or *Settled status from the Home Office (*proof required)
• Due to Government funding criteria, we are unable to accept learners who live in London, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland or a devolved postcode areas. Please check with us if you are unsure.

CYBER SECURITY COURSE - LEVEL 2 QUALIFICATION

This online self-study course allows you to study at your own pace at a time and day that is convenient for you, gaining a level 2 qualification.

Course Information:

This qualification is designed to provide learners with sector awareness. It will do this by increasing the knowledge and understanding of roles and issues relating to Cyber Security.

In an increasingly digital world, cyber security is fast becoming the main concern for many organisations and there is a demand for Cyber Security courses in the UK. With complex online scams and cybercrime, it’s essential that organisations have an understanding of preventative measures to maintain cyber security, including techniques and security checks needed to store data securely. This online course is a key starting point for anyone looking to begin their career in cyber security.

• Understand terminology used in cyber security
• Understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security
• Understand common threats to cyber security
• Understand methods of maintaining cyber security
• Working with others in cyber security

How Will I Learn:

All learning will be online (self-study) and can be completed at a time that suits without the need to attend college. Dedicated tutors will provide written feedback on the assessments and ongoing remote support where required.

The course includes online learning materials in the form of interactive resources and flipbooks, a personalised login to access the online learning portal will be given on enrolment.

Are there any exams or assessments?

You will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and demonstrate your knowledge. Your personal tutor will then assess your work and provide you with constructive feedback for each unit.

Will I achieve a qualification or certificate?

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Cyber Security.
