About this event

  • 28 days 2 hours

Please note this is a 5 week printmaking course for young people aged 15-18.
Sessions will run 2:30pm-4:30pm on Thursdays 1st - 29th August 2024

Are you aged 15-18 and interested in studying art and design subjects at college or university? Then join us on a 5 week printmaking course and explore different techniques to help develop your artistic skills and build your portfolio of work.

The sessions will cover monoprinting, collograph, linocut and drypoint printmaking techniques.

Bring along your own sketchbooks, ideas and school projects to inspire your prints using the different processes.

You'll come away with a series of prints onto paper and lots of ideas for future projects, and you'll work with professional print tutors and technicians in the Leeds Print Workshop space.

You don’t need to have any previous experience as the tutor will guide you through each process in a step-by-step way. All the processes lend themselves well to simple image making using pattern as well as representational images so don’t be put off if you don’t feel confident with drawing.

Booking T&Cs

Our Young Printmakers courses are supported with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, this has enabled us to make them free to ensure the course is accessible to all young people.

When booking if you are able to add a donation to your order this would be very much appreciated, a suggested donation of £20 would help to cover the material costs for the course place - although any donations are greatly received. Leeds Print Workshop is a not-for-profit cooperative, where any profits are reinvested back into our facilities and our community, in order to make creativity and printmaking available to all.

Cancellations - if you are no longer able to attend please notify us with more than 7 days notice prior to the start of the course so we can allocate places to other people. Failure to attend multiple sessions may mean your place is offered to other young people. Donations made for bookings and Eventbrite's booking fees are non-refundable.
