Priory By Candlelight 2025

In the event that we have poor weather on 13th, we will postpone Priory By Candlelight by a week to the 20th of September. If postponement is necessary, you will be notified by email through Eventbrite. In the event of poor weather again on the 20th we will have to cancel for this year.

Purchased tickets will remain valid in the event of a postponement. If you cannot attend the postponed event date (20th September) or the event is cancelled, then attendees will be able to request a refund. All tickets can be refunded subject to the Eventbrite refund policy.

Yes, there will be a range of food vendors from whom a variety of food and drink can be purchased.

Recommended items include: 1. Blankets/warm clothing as it may get cold; 2. Seating; 3. Reusable cups (we offer reusable cups for purchase to reduce disposable plastic waste); 4. Torches; 5. You are welcome to bring a picnic although food and drink will be available on site during the event.

The closest parking to Priory by Candlelight is at Cockshut Road Parking or Mountfield Road Car Park (charges may apply). Due to the limited parking available in Lewes, we recommend using public transport if at all possible. Lewes Priory is roughly a 7-minute walk from Lewes train station.

We would discourage people from bringing dogs to the event as it is a busy event with large numbers of candles in jars placed on the ground that could be knocked over by playful dogs. If dogs are brought, we would request that they are kept on a lead and supervised at all times.

Priory by Candlelight is a family event and children are very welcome. However, this is a busy open air event at night in a park with uneven ground and steep steps, lit mainly by candles in jars so all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and supervised at all times.

On site there will be a number of food vendors and a bar. There will be portaloos available including one for those with disabilities.
