Event description

Description

The Department of Social Policy, Sociology and Criminology look forward to welcoming interested parties at Prison Visitation and Prisoners' Family Links, the third of five Barrow Cadbury supported events within the Birmingham Criminology Seminar Series.

This seminar will provide an overview of the range of difficulties faced by families of men and women in prison. Anna Kotova will discuss her research with this population, and there will be an opportunity to discuss a new visual inforgraphic on the experiences of these families, produced as a part of a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award. The breakout sessions on the themes of Prison Visitation and BAME Families respectively will be lead by Caroline Carr of New Leaf and Razia Hadait of Himaya Haven. Both of these organisations work closely with families affected by imprisonment.

Additional information:

We look forward to welcoming you at the University of Birmingham for an engaging and lively afternoon. Please contact the organisers if you have any accessibility or dietary requirements, or if you are no longer able to attend. With many thanks to Barrow Cadbury for sponsoring the Birmingham Criminology Seminar Series
