Privacy in Libraries - with Paul Pedley
Tue 28 March 2017, 19:15 – 22:15 BST
After CLSIG's AGM we will introduce our guest speaker Paul Pedley, who will be speaking on the topic of Privacy in Libraries. Paul's talk will explore why privacy is relevant in the library world, what the risks are of a data breach occurring (with examples illustrating how problems arise) and what information professionals can do about them.
Paul is currently doing a PhD on this topic at City University and has recently written an article on the relevance of privacy for the corporate library & information services sector, due for publication in the March 2017 issue of Business Information Review. (A draft of the article can be found on his blog - https://libraryprivacyblog.wordpress.com/further-reading/privacy-libraries-in-corporate-sector/ )
After the presentation (& included in the ticket price) there will be a food buffet, wine and a chance for networking!
The social event is generously sponsored by Hammicks Legal Information Services - https://www.hammickslegal.com/
