The Sky’s The Limit 12

"Above us only sky” John Lennon

Wherever we are there is sky above us, our daily canvas and no two skies are ever the same, whether blue, grey, thunderous or serene. Sailors and shepherds have relied on the twists and turns of clouds and stars since time began to guide them and keep them safe. Skies can uplift or oppress, expanding our horizons and influencing our daily lives or reflecting our inner worlds. From north to south, east to west, we all share the same sky and are subject to its fluidity.

Cathy's aim in The Sky’s The Limit:12 was to capture the sky, wherever she found herself, often at the Woodberry Wetlands, each week, for a year to explore the elusive quality of colour and shadow or capture the feel and form of clouds. Her bi-weekly posts can be viewed on Instagram @cathyfpk, accompanied by the words of songs inspired by skies or weather as my hashtags.

Please come and view my exhibition of a year of skies and see what songs they inspire for you.

I really don’t know clouds at all” Joni Mitchell
