Follow the brown signs to Castle Howard and approach through the Carmire Gate. Please be aware of the size restrictions: 2.6m x 3.43m (8’ 6” wide x 11’ 3” high). Park in the main car park and enter the courtyard.

There are excellent train services to York and to Malton, and a local bus runs from York to Castle Howard; the journey takes about an hour. Taxis are available from York (Station Taxis 01653 696969); and from Malton (Station Taxis 01904 623332).

If you would like to combine with visits to other gardens, Studley Royal and Hackfall are not far, and nor is Bramham Park (for Bramham, check with estate office for opening times).
