Process[es]curated by Henry Dowson
Process[es] invites you into the world of artistic creativity, through an exploration of artistic process. Nine contemporary artists will present a selection of work, alongside sketches and preparatory ideas, to show their own creative process in the creation of their art. These artists are Joke Amusan, Cai Arfon Bellis, Mark Boateng, James Grossman, Faye Guy, Ryan Hawaii, Olivia Lopez, Nell Nicholas, & James Rogers.
Unearthing raw, unfiltered and authentic artistic visions, Process[es] invites its audience into the sacred sphere of the studio, to uncover what it means to be an artist in the current climate. In doing so, the intent is to demystify the often shrouded and barriered process of creativity and art making, displaying art making to the widest possible audience.
Each artist has a specific technique of creating, of journeying, of processing the world they see. This process will be celebrated, showcasing work done by an artist to an audience of one, acting against a capitalist model of completion and consumerisation, and in turn foregrounding the intrinsic grind and skill of contemporary artists.
