Event description

Description

Since 2012 Byte the Book has been at the very forefront of the publishing industry, running amazing events at the best venues in London and at book fairs around the world. Our primary aims are to educate authors and publishers on the latest developments in the book world and to help our community make valuable connections with each other and across the publishing industry. You can see some reports on recent events here and here.

How do book prizes affect the publishing industry, both in terms of marketing and what gets published? Are you they are a good or bad thing?

Author and founder of the Republic of Consciousness Prize, Neil Griffiths will chair a panel and his speakers will be: Dr Tim Parnell (Senior Lecturer at Goldsmiths University and Literary Director of the Goldsmiths Prize), Amelia Fairney (Communications Director at Penguin Random House) and Catherine Taylor (Arts Journalist, Commissioning Editor, Critic and Deputy Director of English PEN).

Before and after the talk they'll be the opportunity to network with authors, agents, publishers and suppliers to the publishing industry.

This event will be at the Groucho Club. Byte the Book and Groucho members get in free. Non-member tickets are £25 (+ VAT and booking fee). If you are keen to join Byte the Book please sign up here.

Members and non-members need to sign up for a ticket to reserve their place.
