Event description

Handi Quilter's Pro Stitcher Premium Computerised Quilting System, together with the Art and Stitch digitising program, offer huge creative potential for quilters. HQ Pro Stitcher Premium is an intuitive computer-guided quilting system designed especially for use with Handi Quilter longarm quilting machines. User-friendly and simple to operate, the step-by-step process for each function is easy and fun. Whether finishing your own quilts or considering a quilting business you can achieve elegant and precise quilting with Handi Quilter's Pro Stitcher Premium Software.

Art and Stitch is a digitising package that enables digital designs to be created and exported to the Pro Stitcher Premium system. It is usually supplied with Pro Stitcher Premium. Some other brands of longarm also use Art and Stitch and owners of those systems are also welcome on the class. However, we will be demonstrating with reference to exporting to Handi Quilter longarms.

Mary Beth Krapil is an accomplished quilter and International Handi Quilter Educator. She is an expert in Pro Stitcher and a Certified Art and Stitch Instructor. You can read more about Mary Beth here. New and existing customers will really benefit from having an expert guide them. Mary Beth will be demonstrating using Pro Stitcher Premium on a Handi Quilter machine. The class will be a mix of demonstrations and exercises using your laptop in order to reinforce your learning.

The workshops have been designed so that there is something for everybody, from new users to more experienced edge-to-edge quilters who want to know more. If you would like to get a thorough grounding in both Pro Stitcher Premium and Art and Stitch then you could do all four days. Alternatively, select just the days that interest you. For example, you might select Day 2 for Advanced Pro Stitcher Premium and the first Art and Stitch Workshop which is on the following day.

Pro Stitcher Premium is the latest version of the Handi Quilter Computerised system and it is the version being taught on these workshops. If you have Pro Stitcher Standard you can download the Sim version of Pro Stitcher Premium and run both versions on your laptop at the same time. You can then upgrade your Pro Stitcher tablet when you are proficient in the new software (after the workshop!)

If you would like to stay over, before or after the class, we have arranged for a special dinner, bed and breakfast rate at the 4* hogarths Hotel, which is a beautiful hotel set in stunning grounds. Dinner choices will be available from a specially prepared three course menu selection including coffee/tea each day. Special dietary requirements can be catered for, but we must be advised in advance using the the Dietary Requirements text box when you check out.

Each workshop is £120 per day.

Handi Quilter Customers - Advance Booking until 31st May 2018!

Plus, Handi Quilter Customers can book two or more days and receive discounted pricing as follows -

£120 for one day

£220 for two days (Save £20)

£320 for three days (Save £40)

These discounts apply to an individual's order, not for booking multiple customers on one booking.

Non Handi Quilter Owners - if you purchase Pro Stitcher Premium within 6 months of taking the course we will refund you the equivalent of the Handi Quilter Owner Discount shown above.

Workshop prices include VAT, tea, coffee, refreshments and a delicious hot and cold buffet lunch at hogarths.

PC Requirements

For Pro Stitcher Premium workshops on Days 1 and 2, you will need to bring a laptop or your Pro Stitcher tablet either preloaded with Pro Stitcher Premium Sim Software or set to work off your machine.

For Art and Stitch workshops on Days 3 and 4, you need a laptop with mouse and keyboard that is preloaded with the latest version of the software. The software should be loaded at least a week in advance of the workshop. If you only have the Pro Stitcher tablet available, you must have a keyboard and mouse that works with it and that you have tested in advance. More details on the software that must be loaded will be sent when you book in the confirmation email.

If you do not yet have Pro Stitcher or Art and Stitch please contact us for an information sheet on how to pre-load the software.

NOTE: If you do not have the software loaded in advance of the class you will not have time to load it at the event and will not be able to do the exercises on your laptop. However, you will still be able to watch the demonstrations and see how the software works.

Moving On with Art and Stitch – Advanced techniques

In this class we will explore more of the features in Art and Stitch.

Creative fills, True Type font artwork, creating and playing with pearls, creating wholecloth quilt designs, just to name a few.

Students should be familiar with Art and Stitch. You need to have either taken the previous day's class or have a good working knowledge of Art and Stitch and are confident with all the items covered in the class above. If you are not sure, we recommend you do both days of Art and Stitch. In our experience we find that even after people have used the program for a while there are always hints and tips that they can learn in the earlier class.
