The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Derby and Nottingham Branch invite you to a 'Problem Solving and Reporting - The 8D method' seminar.

About this Event

Description:

Using their enthusiasm and experience our speakers, Suzanne Hill and Craig Stillwell, aim to show you the variety of Problem Solving Methods and Tools that are available, how some may be used and how 8D can be a highly effective method of Problem Solving, when correctly used. You will see the true impact of the method, the lessons learnt and the results achieved.

The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Derby and Nottingham Branch invites you to attend their Problem Solving and Reporting - The 8D Method seminar to be held at Best Western Nottingham Derby, Long Eaton during the evening of 12th November 2019.

The event objective will be to explain how, and when, certain type of Problem Solving Method may be used and some of the tools associated with them, which will lead us to an overview of the 8D method. The end result will not be about knowing the method in full, it's about having the right mindset and tools to use the method effectively when the situation dictates.

About the speakers:

A short biography of Suzanne Hill:

Suzanne is a highly motivated and successful Executive Quality Professional, with global recognition for excellence in problem solving, quality strategy and business improvement implementation. Suzanne has been a chartered member of the CQI since 2008 and is also a fellow of the I.Mech.E. Assuring the quality of aerospace components is at the core of Suzanne’s passion, having worked at Rolls-Royce Derby for over 20 years. Suzanne now runs her own quality and business improvement business; Assured Quality Improvements Ltd which was established in 2012 and also lectures on Advanced Quality Techniques at the University of Warwick (WMG).

Suzanne says “Problem-solving is one of the cornerstones of my professional quality reputation. Throughout my career I have developed a passion and recognition for robustly using the right problem-solving technique for each given situation.”

A short biography of Craig Stillwell:

Craig joined the world of quality in a fairly typical manner, he fell in to it. Starting his life in quality in 2015 he rapidly moved from a clerk to quality control, to quality assurance and now is the Senior QA Engineer for Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies in Derby. As a key part of his role he delivers internal training on a range of subjects, including Problem solving, 8D, Human Factors and Product Integrity. Craig has been an active Practitioner with the CQI since 2018 and is a member of the CQI Derby and Nottingham committee.

Craig says "Quality Assurance and the desire to build in Quality has become my way of life. For me it is all about the ability to be able to communicate tangible evidence of process improvement, through effective problem solving".

Please arrive from 18:30hrs for refreshments and networking, ready for a prompt 19.00hrs start.

The event is hosted by the CQI Derby and Nottingham Branch and is free for all CQI and IRCA members to attend. Members will be asked to provide their membership numbers. Guests are most welcome but will be required to apply for their own ticket also at no charge.

CPD Certificates will be issued to attendees following the event.
