Problem Solving with Numicon | Introductory Workshop (Kent)
Thu 22 June 2017, 13:30 – 15:30 BST
Embed problem solving and reasoning and deepen subject knowledge across your school
How can we develop mastery following the Numicon approach?
In this FREE half-day workshop we will explore how Numicon offers a consistent teaching and learning approach centred around three guiding principles: communicating mathematically, generalizing, and exploring relationships, that allows children to understand, confidently explore and master abstract concepts.
With research-based resources and rigorous teaching support from nursery to Year 6, the Numicon approach enables all teachers to teach the higher expectations of the 2014 National Curriculum with confidence.
The afternoon will include an introduction and overview of the Numicon approach, exploring a Numicon lesson and looking at how the programme works across the year groups. All attendees will go away with a free sample lesson to take back and try in their school.
Registration is from 1pm.
This event is for senior leaders and maths subject leaders from schools who do not currently use Numicon and would like to find out more about this proven approach to teaching maths.
