Procurement - Keeping it local and lovely 
The Food and Drink Forum are delighted to work on behalf of Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire (MPDD) to offer Derbyshire food and drink producers and  visitor economy businesses  the opportunity to attend this fully funded course to help you grow and develop your businesses through the amazing food and drink products produced.
It’s never been more important to consider purchasing for your business within your local area. Making the most of local suppliers will help strengthen your local economy and promote your business. Many customers now look for food and drink outlets that actively promote their local procurement values.
 
 
Aim:
To have the knowledge and passion to create a local procurement plan to supply your business with its resources needed.
 
Objectives:
Delegates will be able to:  
To identify the best local suppliers for your business
Create a decision tree based on your needs
 Create a standard to measure a potential supplier by
Identify alternatives where no local supplier exists
Promote your local produce to your target market
Create partnerships with local suppliers
 
Who Should Attend?  
Anyone in your business who actively purchases goods for your business
 
Course Topics: 
Benefits and potential pit falls of buying locally
Creating a ‘shopping list’ and decision tree for your business
Research techniques for finding local suppliers
Audit of a potential new supplier
Using social media to promote your procurement policy
Identifying opportunities for partnership
 
This course is designed to be highly participative and practical. You will have the opportunity to review your current ways of buying and identify ways to improve your procurement policy by applying simple yet proven approaches.
 
Event Details:
No of places available: 12
Cost: Fully funded, (non attendance maybe charged)
Timings: 9.00/9.30 - 4.00 pm
Refreshments: Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided
 
Please remember that if you cannot attend the event you must cancel 48 hours prior to the event through Eventbrite, otherwise we may have to charge in full for your place.
 
Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for funding your business must be:

  • A visitor economy(accommodation, attraction, activity provider, food and drink provider etc) or a food and drink producer (supply chain)
  • Based in Derbyshire (and their supply chain)
  • Be an SME (less than 250 FTE employees, have a balance sheet of less than €43m and/or turnover of less than €50m and not be more than 25% owned by another business that is not an SME

12 hours of business support is available at no cost for qualifying businesses thanks to  the project funding. If you wish to attend more than 12 hours of workshops then you may be charged at the commercial rate, however, if you are a member of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, there is no limit of events you can attend.

The Food and Drink Forum is delighted to be working on behalf of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire to offer visitor economy businesses and their supply chain within Derbyshire a range of fully funded business support workshops.  Our 'Growing and Developing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire' project is funded by: the European Regional Development Fund, Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, Derbyshire County Council, Peak District National Park Authority, Derbyshire Dales District Council, and High Peak Borough Council.

The wide range of business support workshops are aimed at helping you and your business achieve its full potential and introduce you to new markets and visitors, boosting your competitiveness.

 Workshops will be themed under the following strands:

-       Pedal Peak for Business Initiative

-       Inspired by the Peak District

-       Promoting Derbyshire Products

-       Supporting Market Towns

-       Delivery of new and emerging business support needs to boost competitiveness
