Steve Cooper
Expertise: Quality Management System & Regulatory Consultant

My experience in Quality Management, regulatory and ISO approval spans over 30 years. I started as a PCB Inspector and Quality Supervisor. The next stage of my career was to implement Quality Manuals and procedures to the early BSI Standard formally known as BS 5750 for contract manufacturing companies. This progressed over the years to implementing full quality management systems for CEMs to the requirements of the British Board of Telecommunications (B.A.B.T PS340), ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 13485:2012, BSI IPC-A-610 Class 3 Kite mark, BSI RoHS Kite mark.

Trained as an internal auditor to the requirements of ISO13485, ISO9001 & ISO14001 through LRQA and BSI. Also trained as a Health & Safety Supervisor, risk assessor.

I am currently working on the new Medical Device Regulations and achieving accreditation to the latest ISO standards 13485:2016, 9001:2015 & 14001:2015 for our company and for clients who require a full QMS implementation within their company.

Daniel Manning
Expertise: Software Engineer

I've had many years’ experience in system and digital circuit design. I'm also deeply involved in specification and development of projects. I am security cleared (SC), CRB checked via The Scout Association. I have several experiences in dealing directly with ITAR restricted projects and high profile customers.

  • Main software languages: Embedded C, Visual Studio (VB.net, VB6, C++, C#), PHP, HTML, Javascript, MySQL, Arduino. 11 years real experience in Microchip 8bit and 16bit technology. I have dabbled in many other off the trodden path languages and scripting interfaces.
  • Technologies: RF, networking, digital and analogue interfacing, TCP/IP C stacks, IP, wifi, encryption, GPS, numerous sensor technologies, Web design, MPEG TS, Digital video, Analogue video.

I am all things geeky, and thrive on new challenges. I love backwards engineering things to find out how things work. I'm a married father of 2 great kids.

Dhe R
Expertise: Electronics Engineer

Application specific embedded system development is my main area of focus. I am a Design Engineer and a Project Manager with proven experience in managing multiple collaborative research projects across the EU.

I have spent a significant portion of time creating bespoke embedded and automation systems to aid cancer research and laboratory automation. From creating real time ultrasound beamforming hardware architecture to minimise the side effects of chemotherapy to developing lab-on-chip automation solutions for isolation and amplification of Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs) in blood sample. I also have experience in developing electro-chemical sensor systems to detect amplified CTCs and analysis using custom developed models.

I have also been involved in developing bespoke powder and liquid dispensing solutions for laboratory automation systems and rheometry analysis for automated solution preparation.

At Triteq, my role involves:

  • Electronics solutions design for Medical and Energy industries.
  • Client requirement capture, research and development.
  • Circuit simulation and modelling, detailed circuit design and verification.
  • Real time electronic solutions development, testing and validation.
  • Project management.

In my spare time, I like to tinker about with new technologies and taking things apart to understand how they are made.

Simon Hopkin
Expertise: Mobile Application Developer

Planning, estimation, design and development of native iOS and Android mobile applications, providing feedback and control for external devices over Bluetooth (LE) and NFC. As well as being involved in the design and development process I am also often required to attend meetings with clients and prospective clients and assist in preparing proposals for future work.

Projects include an app that connects to a Triteq designed non-intrusive continuous glucose monitoring patch over Bluetooth LE. The app presents blood glucose measurements captured from the patch as well as manually entered lifestyle information, giving the user all the information they need to proactively manage their condition.

The app is developed on iOS and Android and is intended to be submitted to regulators in order to obtain a medical grade class 2b rating. As such the app itself has to include a number of checks and measures as well as a level of documentation sufficient for regulatory approval.

Also dabbling in embedded c programming as and when needed, though not my forte.

Allan Caple
Expertise: Industrial Design

I have over 20 years product design experience which began as a mechanical engineering apprentice for materials science company Raychem. The highlight of this apprenticeship was the opportunity to machine and assemble a working model steam engine – along with an introduction to toolroom practices, injection moulding and 3D CAD it was a well-rounded engineering education.

Moving away from the workshop, I worked for several years as a mechanical design engineer at Panasonic mobile phones, which included detail design of complex electronic assemblies, extensive testing and factory support in China.

I’ve worked in design consultancy for over 10 years in a wide range of industries, leading projects and providing elegant solutions for food packaging equipment, products for use in explosive environments, satellite phones, medical products, road/rail equipment and more.

Rachel Green
Expertise: UX Design & User research

I am a recent graduate of Brunel University with a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design and Technology, a degree that covered everything from the creative process and visualisation methods to material science and systems design. A specialised focus on graphic design and human centred design culminated in a final year research project for Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

Experience at previous positions includes product and graphic design work for a consultancy working nationally, with a particular focus on the commercial medical arena and the luxury furnishings market. Was part of the new product development team for a company supplying furniture to high-secure medical environments, which required meeting exacting standards for specific high-risk users. Work at Triteq so far has included investigations into end users and environments for multiple projects, gathering data to influence designs. Personal interests include watching Formula 1, visiting art galleries and learning the official languages of the UN.

Kevin Powell
Expertise: Safety Critical Medical Devices

Originally graduating with a degree in Electronics, I have many years’ experience of working in electronics (originally on digital microwave communication systems) and embedded software development (including DSP). A significant part of my experience has involved developing Medical devices including the regulatory aspects. This combination gives me the ability to consider projects both from the regulatory perspective and from the development perspective.

Since working at Triteq the Medical Device projects I have been involved in the development of, for various clients, have included a medical imaging camera, a glucose monitor, research into an artificial pancreas system, an infusion pump and a medical scanner.

I have significant expertise in the Regulatory aspects of Medical Devices. I have been involved in various submissions to notified bodies for CE marking, also submitting to and liaison with test houses for testing against IEC and harmonised medical standards.
