It's been a while since the community had an in-person get-together, so we're putting the video calls aside for an unconference in London!

Two themes will help shape the days conversations, workshops and collaborative sessions.

1. Shaping the future

Digital services and data collection are now ubiquitous. The potential for these systems is great, but so too are the risks, from algorithmic bias to cyber security to digital exclusion. How should public sector product people address these risks and apply the values and principles of good product development?

This theme covers the social impact of new and emerging technologies.

2. Keeping product culture living and breathing

Whether we get together and share ways of working on a team, a programme, in an organisation or across the public sector, we’ll all have experienced aspects of the public sector product culture. How do we nurture and sustain it? How do the skills change from level to level? What can we learn from each other, or share in the open?

This theme covers keeping community alive at different zoom levels.

How an unconference works

Rather than hold a host of talks and presentations like a normal conference, an unconference invites attendees to propose topics for discussion, workshops or collaborative sessions. Attendees vote on which sessions they want to hear and which they want to attend. Each session results in a set of notes or other materials for the community to use.

The goal is to have collaborative two-way conversations rather than watch a series of slides and presentations. It's all about active participation and exploring ideas with other people from your community.
