Productive Partnerships: Creating localised solutions to Britain’s obesity...
Obesity is one of the biggest public health issues facing both the NHS and the entire country. According to the Lancet, 38% of both men and women in the UK are expected to be obese by 2025.
The government’s response to this crippling problem – to implement a soft drinks tax – has generated debates about whether this will actually have a real impact on obesity, as the introduction of a sugar tax in Mexico and Denmark failed to make a dent on the issue.
Join us at this event, in partnership with the British Soft Drinks Association (BSDA), to explore how community and local government-based strategies and initiatives can be supported by the soft drinks industry to develop solutions to Britain’s obesity problem.
