The 1st Talk: Launching a viable, desirable and feasible digital product

Product Management is all about discovering a product that is viable, desirable and feasible. When it comes to EdTech, the intersection between the 3 values is quite challenging and also a key differentiator for the success of your startup. In this talk, we will discuss some of the takeaways to apply when it comes to launching and running a successful EdTech startup on the way to becoming a scaleup.

About the Speaker: Ahmed El-Sharkasy - CEO & Co-Founder at Knowledge Officer

Ahmed El-Sharkasy is a software engineer and product manager with more than 7 years of experience working in world-class startups in the Middle East and Europe. He was the first engineer at Bkam, a leading price comparison website in the MENA and was also the first engineer at Onfido, the leading identify verification service in the UK and Europe. After going through one of the top accelerator programs in Europe (Entrepreneur First), Ahmed is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Knowledge Officer, a London-based EdTech startup with a mission to build the shortest and most efficient path to employment and career progression. He has also been included in the list of top 100 influencers in Edtech by the EdTech Digest.

The 2nd Talk: Becoming Agile Beyond Dev: Scaling Agile Management and Culture

Agile isn't something you implement, it's something you become. As the speed of business increases and entire markets continue to change, scaleups are finding it harder to react in time with accurate decisions, and maintain a grounded world view for product development meeting the true needs of their changing customers. In this talk, Christopher will explore:

  • how an answer to this can be found in relaxing a hold on strict bureaucracy and moving towards a more adaptive, reactive method of management,
  • the oft-misunderstood concept of kaizen;
  • how Agile doesn't only apply to software development, but also equally to learning, culture, and management, how it integrates with several other frameworks; and why it requires a contextual application to be truly effective.

About the Speaker: Christopher Bramley - Agile Coach for Organisational Transformation

Christopher Bramley is a global coach, mentor, speaker, and consultant, with a passion for specialising in teaching and learning patterns (including enablement, engagement with ethnography, retention, and applicable understanding), Cynefin and complex adaptive systems, and organisational transformation into innovative, value-delivery focused learning ecosystems using an adaptive combination of frameworks and concepts for finding context and coherency. He has utilised a holistic set of patterns including contextually-applied agile, lean, complex problem-solving, teaching, and learning in a number of often heavily technical OpsDev roles for 22+ years with startups/SMBs to SME/Global Enterprise clients.

He is also a 5-star multi-genre published author in Fiction & Fantasy, Human Learning, and general humour amongst others, as well as a blogger, Tweeter, and Fitness aficionado, with way too many extra hobbies.
