Prof. B. Kavanagh (Tohoku Uni) - The adoption and practice of CLIL in Japan

Last year marked the 10th anniversary of the arrival of CLIL in Japan. This talk aims to look at how the approach has been adopted and practiced in Japan at university level and will give an overview of the work done by the Japan CLIL Pedagogy association (J-CLIL), documenting its past, present, and future projects. This includes the start of the CLIL Teacher Education Program (CTEP) which aims to help teachers and teacher trainees develop their CLIL knowledge and skills within the Japanese educational context.

Barry Kavanagh is an associate professor at Tohoku university in Japan and is the vice president of J-CLIL and chair of the J-CLIL Tohoku Chapter.
