This 2 hours quality assured Zoom SAFEcic interactive course meets the requirements of the relevant safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, Ofsted, CQC, the Charity Commission, Regulated Bodies' guidance, local Safeguarding Children and Adult Safeguarding Boards'/Partnership's expectations.

Overview

This course is designed for managers of all those who work, or volunteer, directly with children, young people, adults at risk and/or their families or carers to consider safeguarding professional boundaries within their own roles and responsibilities. All delegates must already have current Safeguarding training certificates in place, as relevant to their role, before attending this course.

The course meets the requirements of the relevant safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, Ofsted, CQC, the Charity Commission, various Regulated Bodies' guidance, and in line with local Safeguarding Children and Adult Safeguarding Boards'/Partnership's expectations.

At the end of the session participants will have:

Gained an understanding of the concept of the duty of care and the code of conduct required when working with children, young people and adults who may be at risk
Looked at issues which challenge professional boundaries in the organisation
Debated possible scenarios and the actions that need to be taken when there is a concern that professional boundaries have been breached

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course participants will be able to:

Name the key legislation, statutory guidance and local policies and procedures which determine professional boundaries when working with groups at risk
Explain what makes situations OK and not OK
Describe how to make a referral and respond appropriately within their own work place policies and procedures
Identify strategies for dealing with difficult behaviours
Carry out safeguarding risk assessments of their roles and activities

The course includes a digital resource pack and certificate of attendance or each delegate, valid for three years
