Event description

Description

At this event we will be joined by a number of external speakers to explore the variety of placement and career routes available to students from the School of Social, Historical and Literary Studies.

We are currently confirming speakers for the day and so ask that you save the date - with further details to be provided in due course. The event will have limited capacity and so booking is essential.

Draft schedule
Starting at 1pm the event will open with a welcome talk that will provide an overview of career destinations for SSHLS students. This will be followed by a series of presentations and parallel workshops that will explore themes such as:

  • Careers in politics, PR, media, cultural heritage, recruitment, equality & diversity and more...
  • What skills do you need to work in the third sector?
  • Why is it important to have knowledge of your sector and how do you develop this?
  • How to set up a Social Enterprise and the support available to do so
  • Help, I have no idea what to do!

The event will close with a question and answer panel session where you will be able to pose your questions to the speakers and to our Placement Ambassadors. You will have the chance to submit your questions in advance.

The event will finish at 4.30pm.
