Professional Clerks’ Development Programme - 4 Sessions

About this event

The feedback from the first cohort of Clerks to Governing Boards on the Professional Development Programme was overwhelmingly positive. Clerks said:

“I have enjoyed this development programme thoroughly. I am extremely glad the opportunity was available at this time as it has given me a much broader understanding of school governance and critically allowed me to analyse what good governance should look like.”

“Due to the knowledge I have acquired throughout the modules I have the ‘voice’ and confidence I need to carry out my role effectively.”

“Very good course which has helped me to consolidate my current knowledge and also learn new skills which has given me the vehicle to improve and make appropriate changes to the processes and procedures etc for the governing bodies I work with.”

We are delighted to be able to share details of another opportunity for Clerks to join colleagues at Learning Unlimited Teaching School Alliance (LUTSA) on a new cohort of the programme.

As a provider nationally approved by the DfE, this programme offers both new and experienced clerks an opportunity to develop their role so that they can contribute effectively to governance at their school or academy trust.

New clerks will be able to develop their understanding of clerking and develop essential knowledge and skills, whilst experienced clerks will be able to enhance and develop their competencies and expertise.

The programme will consist of:

• Four modules

(1 – understanding Governance and the role of the Clerk;

2 – administration, advice and guidance;

3 – people and relationships;

4 – panels and evaluation of programme learning and impact), facilitated by experienced, high quality facilitators

• 360o evaluation to establish your competencies and areas to develop

• Inter-session research and activities to put your learning into practice

• Reflection on your learning throughout the programme

• Peer support and sharing practice with other clerks on the programme

All sessions will take place via Zoom from 9:30 – 12:30 on:

1. Monday 7th June

2. Monday 5th July

3. Monday 20th September

4. Monday 11th October

Please note attendance is required at all 4 sessions.
