Professional Conduct and Boundaries

Who should attend:

This course is aimed at staff and volunteers who work with service users, partners and other organisations who wish to better understand professional conduct.

Overview:

In today’s world individuals are dealt with in a variety of ways - face to face, emails, texting, social media and more. Sometimes it can be easy to let the boundaries slip between professional and personal communications and this course aims to provide the tools to ensure communications are always understood and clear. Different types of communication will be covered as well as how to handle difficult conversations.

This course will cover:

  • Professionalism – what do we mean?
  • Advantages and disadvantages of different types of communication methods and how to be an effective listener
  • Handling difficult conversations
  • Understanding boundaries and how to spot when they are slipping

Please note this accredited free training is supported by Shropshire Council and managed by the Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership Voluntary & Community Support Team. To support community groups, voluntarily organisations and volunteers within Shropshire only. This course is part of a launch offer and we are offering two free places per organisation for courses held between March and May. Free spaces are limited and restricted to two places per organisation.

This training will be delivered via Zoom. Once you have successfully booked onto your chosen free course. You will be emailed a few days before the training date, to give you the meeting ID and password to join the session .

We do offer a waiting list facility. So, if you are unable to attend, please could you let us know as soon as possible via email so we can then offer your free place to someone else.
