About this event
This workshop will support practitioners to build skills and knowledge to embed professional curiosity as a central component to their practice. Professionally curious practitioners should:
Interrogate and test out information rather than accepting it as face value, triangulating information from different sources in order to gain clarity, identify concerns, and enable a fuller understanding.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of attending this workshop participants will be able to:
Describe professional curiosity and why it is so important in relation to safeguarding adults.
Understand the ‘barriers’ and ‘enablers’ to working in a professionally curious way.
Plan how to use appropriate models to integrate the use of professional curiosity into your everyday work.
Apply the knowledge and skills that are needed for working in a professionally curious way.
Target Audience:
Practitioners and clinicians working with adults at risk of abuse and neglect.
Professionals who work with adults at risk from specific key sectors such as substance misuse, homelessness, domestic abuse, counselling etc.
Professionals who have responsibility for safeguarding within their organisation from any other sector.
LSAB training events are free of charge to delegates, but are a very valuable resource that take a lot of time, (public) money and effort to arrange. These are often oversubscribed too, meaning that ‘drop outs’ prevent another person from attending.
Delegates should not book onto an event unless they can absolutely commit to attending, and if you need to drop out you should inform LSAB@lewisham.gov.uk as soon as possible so that a replacement can be considered.
If you do not attend and do not let us know in advance we will ask your manager for an explanation, and we will reserve the right to refuse future bookings for repeated ‘no shows’.
All the learning events that the Lewisham Safeguarding Adults Board provide are free of charge to the delegate. However, a lot of time, resource, and public expense is used in planning and delivering these activities, so if you register, please make a full commitment to attending. If you do not, you may prevent someone else from being able to participate.
Please cancel your booking if your circumstances change or let us know as soon as you can.
Repeat non-attenders may be barred from registering for our events in the future.
