Event description

Description

This information evening is aimed at British Sign Language/English Interpreters (RSLI, TSLI and interpreting students).

Are you looking for a way of developing and enhancing your professional practice? Do you sometimes feel isolated and unsupported in your work? Do you need a safe and confidential space to discuss the dilemmas and challenges that arise in interpreting assignments? Supervision may be the answer!

A relatively new concept to our profession, supervision provides designated time to reflect on your practice, guided by a qualified supervisor. It gives you the opportunity to take a step back and explore issues that arise in your work, with a focus on the dynamics of interpreted interaction, including emotional and psychological issues.

Interested and want to know more? Come along to the session on the 9th May 2018 and find out if supervision is for you. The three presenters, Dr Jules Dickinson, Dr Lisa Ball and Lyn Chase, will outline the benefits of supervision, and suggest useful tools for enabling you to reflect on, and analyse your work.

There will also be an opportunity to discuss the potential to engage in either one-to-one or group supervision sessions, if this is something you wish to do.

Please book your place as soon as possible so as not to miss out.

Please be aware there is limited on-site parking. Refreshements will be served. Nearest tram stop is Nottingham High School.
