Improve your marketing materials and your internal comms, with this one-day, in-house workshop. Learn key skills for writing on the web and writing persuasively (without being pushy).

Improve your marketing efforts and your profile. Start producing content that people read and share, and that helps make you a thought leader.

This workshop will take you through all the essential ingredients of writing great content. It will also teach you how to write clear and memorable communications, whether that’s an internal report or client comms.

The workshop will focus on:

  • refining your brand personality and style,

  • identifying your ideal client and how to write in a way that appeals to them,

  • writing for the web and SEO,

  • writing persuasively and using storytelling in business,

  • how to plan your writing and write clearly and effectively,

  • how to format your writing,

  • how to write headlines,

  • planning and monitoring your content and coming up with ideas.

Your attendees will leave with:

  • a content planning template,

  • a list of up to 12 blog / content ideas – 3 months’ worth of weekly blogs,

  • a blog planning template and a website content planning template,

  • 2 constructively edited pieces of content per attendee – one written before the workshop, one written after,

  • an understanding of on page SEO and how to write Meta data for each post,

  • a persona emotion mapping template,

  • a brand personality guide,

  • a value proposition guide,

  • a 10 point checklist,

  • a 3-step formula for persuasion,

  • an understanding of how to use storytelling in business.

Before and after the workshop

In advance of the workshop, I'll contact you to discuss any particular aspects you want to focus on. Each attendee will be encouraged to bring along a piece of pre-written material to work on during the workshop. Following the event, I'll provide feedback to each attendee on a piece of communication or content that they're written since the event.

The agenda

Part 1. Discovery: We take a look at your existing material. We'll look at what you've written already and what works, what doesn't and why. Then we'll identify the areas you need the most help with first.

Part 2. Tackling the fundamentals of good writing, including:

  • your target client and brand personality,

  • content planning and your objectives,

  • technical writing skills - structure, length, grammar,

  • use of language and style,

  • formatting,

  • how to write headlines and CTAs,

  • writing for the web - keywords and Meta data,

  • a formula for persuasion,

  • Storytelling,

  • tracking performance.

Part 3. Practical exercise: we'll return to something the attendees have already written and try and improve it. There’ll be final Q and A’s and feedback.

Includes notes and is suitable for up to 10 people.
