Event description
Part of the RSGS Inspiring People talks programme. Glaciers, ice sheets and climate change

About this Event

Drawing on over 30 years of experience, Professor Doug Benn shows how the world’s ice is shrinking in response to global warming, from the high peaks of the Himalaya to the islands of the Arctic. The journey ends at perhaps the greatest threat of all – the gigantic Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica. Doug is part of an international team racing to understand why this glacier is retreating so fast, and how it may trigger changes that will affect every part of the globe.

Tickets are on sale here or on the door; RSGS Members and students are entitled to free entry on the door - all subject to availability.
