Event description

Description

From Social Cognition to Social Robots

Understanding how we perceive and interact with others is a core challenge of social cognition research. This challenge is poised to intensify in importance as the ubiquity of artificial intelligence and the presence of humanoid robots in society grows. In this talk, I review recent evidence from psychology and neuroscience studies that aim to provide deeper insights into how people perceive, interact with, and form relationships with robots. Not only does this work highlight how robots might become part of our everyday lives in the future, but it also reveals fundamental insights about human social cognition more generally.
