Event description

Description

Professor Francis Greene was appointed a Chair position at Edinburgh University Business School in 2017. Previously he held positions at the Universities of Durham, Birmingham and Warwick. Professor Greene has worked for the OECD, the European Commission, the Federation of Small Businesses and major banks in the UK where he has sought to practically improve understandings of entrepreneurship for individual businesses and stakeholders, such as the banks and international policy makers. His research interests are focussed on the start up, growth and failure of entrepreneurial businesses.

Professor Greene's masterclass is a practical session that uses the research evidence base on start-up planning, to help those that have a business idea or are thinking about starting up, to think through some of their start-up planning.

Whilst recognising that there are a variety of ways to plan a start-up, the session uses a staged ‘propose, sketch and detail’ model to examine ways that you can achieve start-up viability.
