You are warmly invited to attend Professor Ruth Harris' inaugural lecture - From idealism to realism: a Nursing development journey.

Professor Ruth Harris charts her journey from a undergraduate nursing student at Chelsea College, London and her subsequent clinical work in the ground breaking Nursing Development Units, to her current role of Professor of Health Care for Older Adults at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery. In her inaugural lecture, Professor Harris will highlight the important influences on her career including those that have led to her current research interests which have informed nursing practice and scholarship.

Professor Harris has a clinical background in acute medical nursing and care of older people. Her research interests include the impact of nursing and multi-professional interventions on processes of care and patient outcomes.

This free lecture is part of the Nightingale Lecture Series, and is open to all. The event is followed by a drinks reception.
