Event description
What will you be driving in 2040?

About this Event

Or perhaps we may not even be driving? The internal combustion engine passenger car has given people unlimited access to personal mobility at a low cost, but now faces an uncertain future. In the face of challenges such as the VW emissions scandal, a need to reduce global CO2 emissions and concerns around road side emissions, can the IC engine still play a role or can we meet these challenges purely through electrification? The automotive industry is confronted by a number of potential Paradigm shifts. Will we own and drive our own vehicles in the future or will we live in an autonomous world?

This lecture will present a view of propulsion systems and the challenges to develop these systems in an ever more complex world. Answering the following questions:

· Is there a future for the IC engine?

· Will we ever be fully autonomous?

· What are the other propulsion solutions?

To attend this free lecture please register on eventbrite. This lecture will be followed by a drinks reception in CB Foyer on Level 2.
