From Artful Dodgers to Borstal Boys: Negotiating Histories of Youth Justice

The history team at Leeds Beckett are delighted that this year’s public lecture will serve as a Professorial Inaugural Lecture for Professor Heather Shore. She will reflect on her research on historical youth justice from the early nineteenth to the twentieth century, a period during which the modern system of juvenile justice evolved

Professor Shore will explore changing social and cultural representations, and the development of legal definitions of the young offender, by considering the different approaches which have shaped and informed this history.

This lecture is part of Leeds Beckett University's Professorial Inaugural Lecture Series.
