Professorial Lecture - Professor Neil McHugh

By Glasgow Caledonian University

Overview

Policies to Tackle Health Inequalities: What Do the Public Think?

Join us on December 9, as Professor Neil McHugh gives a public lecture exploring how understanding public values can help tackle health inequalities.

In this lecture, Professor McHugh will share insights from his research journey — from balance sheets and profit and loss accounts to exploring public views and values on reducing health inequalities.

The professorial lecture, titled ‘Policies to tackle health inequalities: what do the public think?’ will take place at Glasgow Caledonian University from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.

Professor McHugh is a Professor of Public Health Economics within the Economics of Health and Wellbeing Research Group in the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health. His research focuses on eliciting public values concerning resource allocation decisions to improve health and reduce health inequalities, while conceptualising and evidencing the role of social finance on health.

The lecture will discuss innovative ways to explore what the public think about how we should tackle health inequalities, and what difference this kind of evidence might make.

This lecture will appeal to members of the public, academics in public health, health economics and social policy, and those working in policy who are concerned with tackling inequalities.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Glasgow campus on December 9 with registration from 5pm in the Annie Lennox Foyer.
