In this lecture, Professor McDonald will reflect on the system-based and user-based factors that affect our ability to use software systems

About this Event

Professor McDonald’s research interests focuses primarily on peoples’ interactions with technology in a number of domains ranging from how people navigate in electronic worlds, information seeking behaviours, and persuasive technologies for exercise. She has researched the impact of different evaluation methods within Human Computer Interaction, identifying and improving methodologies that are used extensively by usability and user researcher practitioners working in the industry. In recent months Professor McDonald has begun to investigate human factors issues within cyber security. She teaches on the User Experience Design, User Experience and Cybersecurity modules

In this lecture, Professor McDonald will reflect on the system-based and user-based factors that affect our ability to use software systems effectively.

The lecture “When Computer Says No: from usability to cybersecurity” takes place on Monday 1 June at 6pm at Prospect Building, room 009, St Peter’s Campus, Sunderland, SR6 0DD.

Refreshments will be served from 5.30pm in Prospect Building.
