About this event

  • 6 hours

The professional development for Project X CODE is two full days of training delivered as 2 digital workshops. There is a break of a few weeks between the 2 sessions to enable schools to begin setting up and running the programme so that, during session 2, queries that have arisen during this interim time may be addressed.

Key Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

• Gain an understanding of the Project X CODE reading intervention programme: what it is, how it works and who it is for

• Learn how to lead and manage the programme: select pupils, monitor their progress and support the delivery of sessions

• Discover the structure of Project X CODE sessions through watching and exploring example videos

• Explore the Project X CODE materials: the books, the session scripts and the online resources

• Understand the subject knowledge associated with reading – word reading, language comprehension, vocabulary and fluency – and learn how the programme supports pupils to develop these skills

• Consider effective strategies to support pupils’ development of reading skills, both within Project X CODE sessions and in wider classroom work
