This Promise Online Session on Friday 3rd October will share the learning story of Asylum and Refugee Care (AARC) SCIO in the North East of Scotland.
Join us to hear how AARC is a dedicated charity focused on supporting the growing number of refugees and people seeking asylum in North-East Scotland. What started as a small group of passionate volunteers in 2022 has since evolved into a fully registered charity by 2023.
AARC was created to offer practical and emotional support to refugees and people seeking asylum who often arrive in the region with little to nothing, sometimes at a moment’s notice.
Our mission is simple: to lend a helping hand to those forced to flee their home countries, providing the care and support they need as they start to rebuild their lives..
What you’ll take away from this session:
- You'll have had a chance to explore some of the issues that face UASC when coming into new communities
- You'll have had a chance to explore some of the issues that face services when trying to support UASC to settle in new communities
- You'll hear how AARC have addressed some of these challenges
- You'll have heard from peers around the country about their learning and experiences and have shared your own.
Promise Online Sessions are an opportunity to hear about good practice, share key learning and connect to address challenges and barriers.
