Propulsion Futures Beacon Industry & Academic Forum - Sustainable Materials
Event Information
About this Event
Sustainable approaches to composites for aerospace
Composites are essential materials for aerospace. This forum will discuss how they are made more sustainable from raw material development and finding greener ways to process them in fabrication and decommissioning. In terms of functionality, mechanical strength, surface properties, electrically insulating and thermally conducting properties are particular areas of focus. The opportunities for improved functionality that new materials, fabrication and processing methods afford will be showcased from fundamental to applied perspectives.
Led by Professor David Amabilino, EPSRC/GSK Professor of Sustainable Chemistry, Faculty of Science.
Detail about this session to follow shortly.

Purpose
Through a series of Industry and Academic Forums we would like to create an environment that brings together researchers from academia and industry, with diverse experience and activities in distinct, yet complementary areas, to discuss the development of research and collaborative projects. We will also share the progress, achievements, and investments that the Beacon has made so far and open the discussion on a range of themes that cumulate to drive greener transport forward.
