Event description

Description

Michael Rosen is a well-loved poet, author, broadcaster, ex-Children’s Laureate and Professor of Children’s Literature at Goldsmiths University. His book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt has sold over 8 million copies and he has presented Radio 4’s Word of Mouth since 1996.

In his new book, Rosen turns his attention to the incredible true story of the 19th-century French novelist Émile Zola and his escape to London in the aftermath of his impassioned attack on French anti-Semitism exhibited by the Dreyfus case.

Rosen will discuss Zola’s time in London, and the current state of politics in the UK—and France, the day after the country goes to the polls to elect a new President, with National Front leader Marine Le Pen expected to do well.
