Alicia, is a Human Rights advocate with the organization Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT.) She trained with CPT in 2015 joining the CPT Palestine team in al-Khalil, West Bank, where she worked in the role of Work Coordinator until being denied entry in 2019. Since then, she has continued to work with CPT in an Outreach and Development capacity.
CPT places teams at the invitation of local peace-making communities that are confronting situations of lethal conflict. CPT understands violence to be rooted in systemic structures of oppression. We are committed to undoing oppressions, starting within our own lives and in the practices of our organization. CPT was invited by the municipality of Al-Khalil/Hebron, following the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre.
In 1995, the first official CPT team was established in the Old City of Hebron. The plan was to accompany the community for six months until the situation stabilized. But unfortunately, the occupation and its violations continued.
