Protecting vulnerable people, children and older adults from online dangers...
Wed 7 December 2016, 09:45 – 16:30 GMT
We are living in an online society, many of us to varying degrees are living our lives online.
We are all vulnerable to online dangers, but how do we support those who are most vulnerable - children, young people, vulnerable adults and older adults? How do we raise awareness within these groups and how can we identify if someone may be falling prey to online dangers?
This special one day workshop will cover:
Scams, fraud, predators and cyberbullying – defined and key identifying traits
How to sensitively build the awareness and vigilance of the people we are supporting
What to look out for if you think a vulnerable person is in danger
How to broach the subject sensitively if you suspect someone is in danger
Involvement of authorities and police (how and when to raise alarm)
