About this event

This webinar, funded and provided by Sands, is facilitated live by a specialist bereavement care trainer and is ideal for anyone working in community settings with those who have experienced pregnancy or baby loss. It is an excellent introduction for anyone looking to further their knowledge and provide compassionate care and support.

At the end of this session, participants will understand more about the experience of pregnancy and baby loss, and will have explored the skills needed to provide parents and their families with the support they need throughout their grief journey.

The voices of those who have experienced loss and the needs of the people supporting them are at the centre of the learning materials, which include video content and links to useful tools and resources.

The session lasts for two hours and includes the following topics:

  • Overview of pregnancy and baby loss
  • Partners, siblings and the wider family
  • Culture, community and the individual
  • Growing around grief
  • Communicating with compassion and empathy
  • Creating boundaries and your own wellbeing

The session is facilitated live and has interactive elements, so you are welcome to ask questions during the session.
